Mojo and the Mess

A young woman, her Frenchie, and the fight for her life

Welcome

Hi, I’m Izzy.
I’m 27, battling cancer, and doing it with a French Bulldog on my lap and a fire in my soul.

This blog is my way of making sense of the chaos — the chemo brain, the dark humor, the beautiful breakdowns, the tiny moments that still make life worth it.

Whether you’re here because you’re in the fight too, loving someone through it, or just want a window into a world that’s hard to explain — welcome to the mess. You’re not alone.

🐾 WHAT THIS SPACE IS

What is Mojo & the Mess?

This is not a survival guide.
It’s not toxic positivity.
It’s not “everything happens for a reason.”

It’s real life with cancer — the appointments, the waiting rooms, the dark humor, the days that hurt, and the ones that surprise you.

You’ll find:

  • Honest stories about living with metastatic cancer
  • Chemo & treatment experiences (the good and the traumatic)
  • Letters to the girls coming after me
  • Resources I wish I had earlier
  • Mojo’s POV when words are too heavy

If you’re here because you’re sick, scared, supporting someone you love, or just trying to understand — you’re welcome here.

I’m Izzy

Welcome to mojo and the mess, This isn’t the blog I ever expected to write — but it’s the one I needed.

I’m Izzy, a twenty-something living (and dying) with terminal cancer, navigating the messy, heartbreaking, unexpectedly beautiful in-between. Here, you’ll find raw reflections, real talk, dog snuggles (shoutout to Mojo), and the unfiltered truth about what it’s like to face the end of your life before it really got going.

This space is for the ones who’ve felt forgotten, the ones who don’t know what to say, and the ones who are still holding on. It’s not always pretty, but it’s always honest.

Thanks for being here. You’re part of the mess now — and I mean that in the best way.
