Nine Days Until 28

My birthday is in nine days.

And this year, instead of doing the whole “birthday month” thing, I honestly just want to try to grow Mojo & The Mess as much as possible before May 21st.

That’s it.

Because this page turned into something I never expected it to.

When I first started writing, it was mostly just me trying to get thoughts out of my head somewhere. Half the time I was angry. Half the time I was scared. A lot of the time I was writing from hospital chairs, treatment rooms, parking garages, or my couch while feeling completely wiped out from chemo.

I didn’t think it would become a community.

I definitely didn’t think strangers would start telling me, “this made me feel less alone.”

But they did.

And over time, Mojo & The Mess became this place where people could be honest about things that normally make other people uncomfortable. Cancer. Fear. Body changes. Infertility. Caregiving. Mental exhaustion. The weird dark humor you develop just trying to survive all of this.

Not inspirational all the time.
Not perfectly positive.
Just real.

And I think that’s why people connect to it.

So for the next nine days, I really want to push this page farther than it’s ever gone before.

I want more people to find it.
More people to subscribe.
More people to feel like they found a corner of the internet where they don’t have to pretend they’re okay all the time.

Because I know those people are out there.

I was one of them.

Honestly, building this has given me purpose during some really ugly parts of my life. When cancer strips away so much of your normal life, having something that still matters to you becomes really important.

And this matters to me.

A lot.
