On October 10, we are turning the Lakeside Community Center into something I wish existed when cancer first entered my life.
The Village is a free community event created for cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, families, and the people who continue showing up through all of it. From 9 AM to 2 PM, we are bringing together local resources, organizations, vendors, music, raffles, survival kits, a kids’ area, food, small gifts, and hopefully a whole lot of joy.
This is not a walk. It is not a fundraiser where patients are asked to give more. It is a day where people affected by cancer can come as they are, find help they may not have known existed, meet people who understand, bring their families, and actually enjoy themselves.
Cancer can make the world feel incredibly small. The Village is our way of making it feel bigger again.
What You’ll Find at The Village
We are building an entire day around connection, support, and fun. There will be resource tables for patients and caregivers, local vendors, raffles, music, activities, a kids’ area, survival kits for people currently in treatment, and plenty of surprises we are still working on.
Every organization and business involved is helping us create something our community has never had before. A place where practical support and a genuinely good day can exist together.
And yes, Mojo will absolutely be there supervising the whole thing.
Our Village Shirts Are Available Now
We have a limited number of our original Village event shirts available for $15.
This is the last chance to purchase this version. A new event-day shirt featuring our incredible sponsors on the back is coming soon and will be available at The Village.
Buying a shirt helps us keep building this day. It also helps spread the word every time someone wears one. If you want one of the remaining original shirts, message me before your size is gone.
We Are Still Looking for Sponsors
It takes a village to build The Village, and we still have room for more businesses to become part of it.
Sponsorships are available at different levels, and every sponsorship includes a vendor space at the event. Sponsor support helps cover the venue, entertainment, children’s activities, event materials, survival kits, and the many small expenses involved in keeping the event free for the people it was created for.
We are getting close to the cutoff for shirts, banners, and printed materials, so businesses that want their name included need to reach out soon.
If you own a business, work for one, or know someone who does, please ask them to consider sponsoring The Village. Send them this blog. Tag them. Share our information with the person who handles community outreach.
Sometimes all it takes is one person asking.
Vendors and Community Resources Are Welcome
We are still welcoming vendors, nonprofit organizations, cancer resources, healthcare groups, and local businesses that want to participate.
We want attendees to leave knowing more about the support available in their own community. If your organization helps cancer patients, caregivers, families, or people facing major medical challenges, we would love to hear from you.
We also have vendor opportunities for local businesses that want to sell products, offer services, or simply introduce themselves to the community. Vendor spaces are $50, and sponsorships include a vendor spot.
We Need Raffle Donations
The raffles are going to be a huge part of the fun, and we need help filling them.
Gift cards, baskets, products, experiences, services, restaurant certificates, beauty services, family activities, hotel stays, event tickets, and other donations would all make wonderful raffle prizes.
Please think about the businesses you visit regularly. Your favorite restaurant. Your hairstylist. Your gym. Your nail salon. Your photographer. Your dentist. The boutique you love. The place that always supports local events.
Ask them if they would be willing to donate something.
You do not need to wait for me to personally know every business in Volusia County. You can help open that door. Tell them what The Village is, send them our information, and connect us. Even a small donation can become part of something really special.

Share The Village everywhere.
Invite cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, friends, and families. Ask businesses you know about sponsoring. Help us find raffle donations. Tell local organizations about our resource tables. Buy a shirt. Donate an item for a survival kit. Tag people who need to see this.
Most importantly, talk about it.
The Village is being built through people telling other people, “You need to know about this.”
I know what it feels like to need help and not know where to look. I know how isolating treatment can become, not only for the patient but for the entire family. I also know how much one kind person, one useful resource, or one good day can matter.
That is what we are trying to create.
A good day.

A day that reminds people they are not doing this alone.
